"From the Archives", What Does that Mean?: On the Kriya Yoga Shakti Blog Archives

Hi :) If you are receiving this blog in your email box it is because we have formed a relationship of sorts around Yoga, Ayurveda, Aromatherapy, Mediation, Pilates, Reiki, Pranayama, Kriya, etc. I just wanted to start today's blog post by saying, "Thank you." Thank you so much for accompanying me on this journey through yoga and all the other beautiful modalities that enrich our lives.

Today’s blog post focuses on administrative matters, but please stick with me. I'd like to introduce you to a segment of this blog that I intend to explore further called "From the Archives."

Some of you have been with me for ages, since 2005 when I wrote my first post! Those of you who experienced those early years probably recall a completely different database of essays, articles, reflections, and inspiration. That content still exists! Only now, I have a new website with a new blog.

The good news is that I am gradually transferring selected pieces from the old blog to the new one and labeling them as "From the Archives," which leads us to the purpose of today's administrative update.

So, what is meant when "From the Archives" is written in a title such as the one above?

Because the Kriya Yoga Shakti Blog continues to thrive well into its second decade and because I write primarily about ideas of timeless nourishment, every once in a while I will dive into the archive and resurface from among the thousands of essays or posts one worth re-savoring.

This transition process also allows for a curated collection of content that resonates with the current themes and interests of you all and will reflect my personal growth as a writer.

It's a way to blend the nostalgia of the past with the freshness of the present, creating a harmonious balance that caters to both longstanding followers and new readers alike. It also offers us an opportunity to revisit timeless pieces, revitalize them with new perspectives, and engage in meaningful discussions with a diverse community of readers.

Delving into the extensive archive of thousands of essays and posts is akin to embarking on a journey through a treasure trove of reflections and insights. Each piece carefully crafted and thoughtfully written, offering a unique perspective on various aspects of life, spirituality, and well-being.

With each resurfaced post, we have the opportunity to re-engage with profound thoughts from teachers that have graced our lives, rediscover forgotten gems, and perhaps glean new meanings in light of our own personal growth and experiences.

This practice of revisiting and re-savoring content not only enriches our understanding but also fosters a deeper connection to the essence of the blog and the insights it attempts to impart.

Thus, I present to you the option to receive these posts in the future in your email box. By subscribing to this service, you will stay up-to-date with the latest content and updates directly in your inbox. This way, you won't miss any valuable information or exciting news that I share.

On the other hand, there is a chance I may post them on this new website and not send them off to you, which could result in you potentially missing out on exclusive content or insights. The choice is entirely yours to make. If you'd like to definitely receive them and ensure that you don't miss anything, please take a moment to fill out the form in the footer below titled "From the Archives."

By doing so, you will be taking the proactive step to guarantee that you receive all the updates and posts directly to your email, making your experience more convenient and seamless. Don't hesitate to seize this opportunity to stay connected and engaged with the content that matters to you. Love,

Ashley

DONATING = LOVING

Every month, I spend hundreds of hours keeping the Yoga Shakti Blog going. Since 2005, it has remained free, ad-free and alive thanks to patronage from readers. I have no staff, no interns, not even an assistant — it is a thoroughly one-woman labor of love that is also my life and my livelihood. If this labor makes your own life more livable in any way, please consider aiding its sustenance with a one-time or loyal donation. Your support makes all the difference.
